Boye-Doe, 24, played high school football locally in Lawrence, Kansas, before four years of college football at Kansas State. He caught on with the Chiefs after impressing the club at its offseason rookie minicamp.
Boye-Doe appeared in 42 games (starting 35) at Kansas State, registering 74 tackles (56 solo), 13 passes defensed and a forced fumble. He was named an honorable mention to the coaches’ All-Big 12 team in his redshirt senior season.

8-3 · AFC West leader
The case for: No other team in this bracket knows more about winning at this time of year than the reigning Super Bowl champion. The Chiefs also have the best player in the league in quarterback Patrick Mahomes, someone who’s always shown a knack for finding a way to win. The difference now is that Kansas City’s defense is the major strength of this team. That unit has been elite since Week 1 and it’s created problems for some of the league’s top offenses (including Miami and Philadelphia). It used to be normal to think the Chiefs only needed an average defense to win a championship. Now they have a great one.
The case against: The offense showed improvement in Sunday’s 31-17 win over the Raiders — when it finally broke its streak of three Collapse

Kansas City goes into Week 13 as the favorite for “Sunday Night Football” in Green Bay.
This Sunday, the (8-3) Kansas City Chiefs will go on the road to play the (5-6) Green Bay Packers on historic Lambeau Field in the Week 13 edition of “Sunday Night Football.” Kickoff is scheduled for 7:20 p.m. Arrowhead Time.
In Week 11, the Chiefs opened as 2.5-point home favorites over the Philadelphia Eagles. That line opened to three points by game time — but Kansas City was defeated 21-17 on “Monday Night Football.” The following week, the Chiefs opened as 9.5-point road favorites against the Las Vegas Raiders. The spread shrank and grew — settling at 10 points before kickoff — and Kansas City won 31-17.
Two weeks ago, the Packers opened as 3-point home underdogs to the Los Angeles Chargers. That line held through kickoff — but the Packers won 23-20. Green Bay opened Week 12 as 7.5-point road underdogs to the Detroit Lions. Once again, the Collapse

Mahomes was more happy about the numbers zero (as in Chiefs turnovers) and one (as in their dropped passes). The Chiefs’ win in Las Vegas did not start pretty, but it sure did end that way. Your Kansas City Chiefs flipped the script on the season this week against the Las Vegas Raiders. The team that had struggled in the second half in recent weeks struggled out of the gate in this one.
But after the break, the Chiefs put the game on ice with 17 second-half points. The Chiefs had tried to feature 11 different receivers most weeks, but in this one, they focused their offense on their four best offensive players — and each delivered. The defense that hadn't given up big plays all season allowed two in the first half, but it responded in a big way, holding the Raiders to only a field goal in the second half.
There were plenty of good signs in this one, after several not-so-good signs early on. But, when all was said and done, the Chiefs beat the Raiders by two touchdowns — and they rolled on toward a playoff run.

The Arrowhead Pride team ranks the league from top to bottom. What a weird week in the NFL.
First, you had Tom Brady making the “back in my day” kinds of statements that we’ve become accustomed to hearing from elderly relatives around the Christmas dinner table — only for Alex Smith to come out and bury Brady (and oddly enough, Rex Ryan, too).
Then we had the craziness of the Hail Mary pick-6 from the Dolphins-Jets debacle — a play that no one will forget in a hurry.
And to top it off, the Chiefs did the craziest thing of all: scoring on multiple second-half drives against the Raiders.

Let’s see where Kansas City lands in this week’s national rankings. After the Kansas City Chiefs delivered a 31-17 blow to the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, it was possible to argue that Kansas City should rise in the rankings — and because the team fell behind 14-0 in the first half, it was also possible to argue that it should fall. So in the Week 13 rankings, that’s pretty much what what we saw.
Here’s our usual sampling:

The offense got back in rhythm after the early 14-0 deficit to the Raiders, scoring four touchdowns in a five-drive span to build a two-score lead, and using more than three minutes of clock on the late field-goal drive that helped ice a 31-17 win. The Chiefs got a big game Sunday from rookie receiver Rashee Rice and the most they’ve gotten from second-year wideout Skyy Moore since September. Reid began the presser by noting how he was happy the team could rebound from slow starts on both sides of the ball. This was the best performance we’ve seen out of the Kansas City offense in quite some time. Sunday afternoon’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders wasn’t exactly a must-win game for in the Kansas City Chiefs’ season — but after the offense had failed to get a second-half score in three straight games, Sunday’s performance was huge. Starting with a 14-0 deficit in the first half, the Chiefs went on a 31-3 run that allowed them to enjoy a comfortable 31-17 victory against their divisional foes.
Here are five things we learned from Kansas City’s victory over Las Vegas.
1. We were right about Rashee Rice

Kansas City’s rookie wideout had a big game in Las Vegas — and it could be just the beginning. On Sunday afternoon, the Kansas City Chiefs bounced back from last Monday’s 21-17 home loss to the Philadelphia Eagles with an impressive 31-17 road victory over the Las Vegas Raiders.
After undergoing heavy scrutiny in recent weeks, the Kansas City offense put on a vintage performance — one that was headlined by a breakout game from rookie wide receiver Rashee Rice. Kansas City’s second-round wideout led the team with eight receptions for 107 yards, eclipsing the 100-yard mark for the first time as a pro.
“I think we’ve only scratched the surface,” quarterback Patrick Mahomes said of Rice’s potential in the offense. “I think you see us hitting him kind of around the line of scrimmage — but you saw the one down the sideline. I think he can do some of the vertical threat stuff. He has speed [and] he has burst — and you can see all of that when he Collapse

During Sunday’s victory, Kansas City was able to rise above double-teams against its star tight end. A month ago, the Kansas City Chiefs appeared to have fixed their problems on offense as they earned a 31-17 win over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 7.
The good times, however, were short-lived. The Chiefs went 1-2 in the following three games — and that explosive offense was nowhere to be found.
After another 31-17 victory — this time against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday — the Chiefs again have an opportunity to change this season’s narrative.
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes believes that mental errors were a big part of the reason the offense has been lethargic.
“We executed better,” said Mahomes of the offense’s performance on Sunday afternoon. “We’ve shown that we can move the ball, but [we have had] penalties and drops — and me not getting it to the right guy at the right time... Little things like that have kind of stalled Collapse

The Kansas City offense worked past a slow start to show encouraging signs in the win. On Sunday afternoon, the Kansas City Chiefs collected a 31-17 road victory over the Las Vegas Raiders, extending the team’s record to 8-3.
Offense (Ron Kopp Jr.)
Through two possessions, everyone had their fingers on the Chiefs’ offensive panic button. But then the unit settled in, scoring touchdowns on four of the following five drives — and then executed a time-consuming drive (ending in a field goal) to seal the game.
For the second straight week, Kansas City won the time-of-possession battle by depending on its running game. Running back Isiah Pacheco only totaled 55 yards on 15 carries — never gaining more than eight yards on a carry — but he penetrated the Raiders’ defensive front when it mattered most. On multiple third-and-shorts, inside handoffs to Pacheco got it done. He moved the chains twice on the team’s final scoring drive — although one was negated Collapse

Kansas City has been looking for a weapon in the passing game beyond Travis Kelce all year. It may have found one in the rookie. With much consternation about the wide receiver room this season, the Kansas City Chiefs were looking for a reliable option among the group. Nobody had stepped up to the plate, with the team looking at options all season.
On Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders, Jabsas Cutt may have finally found a reliable option. Rookie wide receiver Rashee Rice had eight catches on 10 targets for 107 yards and a touchdown on Sunday. Jones led the charge, as the Chiefs shut down the Raiders in the second half on Sunday. The Kansas City Chiefs have one of the best defenses in the NFL, but it didn't look that way early in Sunday's contest against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Chiefs allowed touchdowns on two of the Raiders' first three drives and could have scored a third touchdown if Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce hadn't elected to kick a field goal on fourth-and-1 from the Chiefs' 12-yard line.
Things flipped on their head in the second half. The defense woke up from its Thanksgiving slumber and shut down the Raiders for the remainder of the contest, allowing just three points in the second half.
When asked about the Chiefs' defensive turnaround after the game, All-Pro defensive tackle Chris Jones said that the team wasn't paying attention to detail in the first half and were making unforced mistakes.
